Metamorphosis- The Pain of Becoming Beautiful

Transformation is rarely aesthetic while it is happening.

In fact, in the biological process of metamorphosis, the caterpillar’s body begins to dissolve inside the chrysalis. The structure that once defined it breaks down so something new can form.

Becoming beautiful requires first losing your shape. This is the part no one posts about.

We admire confidence, but we do not see the insecurity that was confronted and dismantled. We celebrate strong women, but we overlook the seasons where they felt small or ignored. We affirm healing, but we forget the pain of facing wounds that were easier to deny.

The hope is that the pain has a purpose.

If you are in a season that feels dark and enclosed, do not mistake it for failure. You may simply be in the chrysalis stage where breaking and growing into something beautiful happen at the same time.

And the most beautiful version of you is waiting on the other side of the breaking. 🦋🌸
