Your Death Is More Certain Than Your Marriage

Your death is more certain than your marriage. Yet we spend our lives chasing romance, validation, and forever promises— while ignoring the only certainty that walks beside us every day.

In Buddhism, this awareness is called maranasati — mindfulness of death.

Not to create fear,

but to awaken urgency, clarity, and depth.

Because when you truly understand that death is guaranteed,

you stop wasting your life scrolling for approval.

You stop begging to be chosen.

You stop postponing inner work.

So instead of searching endlessly for a soulmate,

start working on your soul, mate.

Don’t swipe for love.

Sit with yourself.

Discipline your mind.

Purify your intentions.

Strengthen your character.

The Buddha never promised romance would save you.

He taught that liberation comes from within.

Build a soul so steady that pleasure doesn’t distract it.

So disciplined that fear can’t control it.

So awake that even death meets it with respect.

Because when the final moment arrives,

no one else can walk it for you.

Not your partner.

Not your status.

Not your stories.

Only the soul you cultivated will stand with you.

So choose wisely what you build—

a fantasy of forever,

or a soul strong enough to face impermanence without regret. 🕯️🕊️
