Surrender the thought before fear gives it roots.
Not every thought deserves your belief or your energy—some are just passing through, looking for a place to settle.
Pause.
Notice it.
Let it go.
You don’t have to grow everything that enters your mind. Reiki and Shamanic practices can support this in a very practical, grounded way.
Reiki helps by calming your nervous system so thoughts don’t immediately turn into fear. When your body feels safe, your mind is less likely to latch onto passing thoughts. In a Reiki practice, you can place your hands over your heart or head, breathe slowly, and imagine the thought softening and dissolving. Instead of feeding it, you allow it to move through your energy field without attaching to it.
Shamanic practices work a little differently. They focus on awareness and relationship with your inner world. You learn to recognize a thought as something outside of your core self—not something you have to become. Through grounding, breath, or visualization, you can “release” the thought back to the earth or the space around you. Some people imagine handing the thought to a guide, a fire, or the wind—symbolizing that it no longer belongs to them.
Together, these approaches help you build a pause between the thought and your reaction. That pause is where your power is. Instead of fear taking root, you create space, awareness, and choice.
Over time, this practice trains your mind and body to let thoughts pass without turning them into something heavier. You are not your thoughts—you are the awareness that chooses what to hold and what to release.
The more you practice letting go, the less fear finds a place to stay, and the more peace becomes your natural state.
