If it’s out of your hands, let it out of your mind too.

Here’s how to let it go if you need a hack:


When a looping thought or worry takes hold, pause and take a slow, deep breath in through your nostrils. As you do this imagine drawing your awareness into the heart of the worry - not to fight or reject it, but to acknowledge it with compassion. Jack Kornfield calls it, “loving awareness.”


As you exhale, visualise releasing the thought or worry - again with compassion. Imagine your breath releasing the thought or worry out into the hands of the universe. Where with gratitude you can see it is taken from you.


This mindful breathing exercise not only grounds you in the present moment, it also creates a space in which you can remember that that you are not your thoughts - you are the calm, conscious presence behind them.
