Go to the mountains, I thought.
So I went
Dragging me feet
Grumbling at the steep climb
and the rough terrain
that hurt my soles....
Searching.
Go to the ocean, I thought.
So I went and walked for miles
along the seashore
until nighttime fell
and all went dark
Too dark for searching
Go to the forest, I thought.
So I went and spent
hours among the trees
hugging each one
until my body ached
and my eyes grew tired
Too tired for searching
Go to the river, I thought.
So I went and I sat
and watched the current of the water
playing with driftwood as
the sun sparkled
diamond patterns in white froth
Still searching
"Go into the silence. "... a voice whispered
So I went......
And there I found peace.
