Don’t be ashamed of your story because it will inspire others and could save a life. The reason I am collecting used cell phones are is because for victims of domestic violence, a donated cell phone can be their lifeline. A phone allows them to call 911 or other support services, as well as any friends or family who might be able to help them. Abusers try to isolate victims, but a cell phone is a way for victims to feel safe and less alone. I walked this dark path for a long time and I know firsthand how my life and safety, as well as my family’s, was changed because of someone donating something they no longer used or needed.
